Youth are the bricks of our future. We need to raise Strong Youth today that can uphold the message of Islam, keep mosques running, and be the light of Justice and Peace tomorrow. On June 29th, with the help of Dr. Husain, Project Sakinah Columbus family will be reviving our pledge of keeping the safety and development of our youth and families as our top priority. We invite you to join us this evening and help us in securing our future by investing where we need it the most: Our Youth & Families.
There will be a fundraiser for Project Sakinah. All funds raised on this evening will be used to organize programs and campaigns that will help grow strong families and will help protect our children from Gangs, Sex-trafficking, Drugs, Drinking, Pornography, Family violence, Neglect, Broken Homes, etc.
Dr. Husain is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and a double alumnus of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, having earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and his M.S. in Social Work. He received his Ph.D. in Social Work from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Husain's research interests include the mental health and integration of immigrant and refugee families, and especially Muslim adolescents, in the United States. He serves as a board member and chair of the Leadership Development Committee of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and an advisory board member of the Peaceful Families Project -dedicated to the prevention of domestic violence.
